DARKSIDECOSTUMES
Many of our costumes are based on Lord of the Rings characters, I was drawn into costuming because of the movies and did my apprenticeship at LOTR Costume Research
(aka www.alleycatscratch.com).
Haradrim shows an example of a costume breakdown, which is very helpful when doing a intricate multi-layered costume by "peeling it down" then "parting it out" useful when you don't know where to start and has examples of using method costuming during the design and build stage.
Corsairs features the pirates from the Black ships and the costume made inexpensively by repurposing items from ebay and thrift stores (and I got to wear a mustache!)
The King of the Dead and Ghost Soldier from the Paths of the Dead scene showcases Marcia's King of the Dead latex mask & we get more technical with "el wire" for a ghostly glow and bones for skeletal accessories.
Easterling showcases Ezra's costume with production photos, detail of the armor and the many steps to produce it.
Moria Orc uses rawhide armor,a latex mask & silicone prosthetics for making the transition into non-human creatures whil Ezra's amazing leather helmet allows him to forgo the major prosthetics and he shows you the down & dirty of making your own orc sword.
